How it Works

Your Day on the River.

01

Meeting & Preparation

Your experience begins at Rafting Vjosa Albania Center in Përmet, where you will complete a quick check-in and meet your professional rafting guides. Guests who selected the pickup option can also be collected from their accommodation and brought to the rafting center. We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before departure to allow time for preparation. At the base, our team provides high-quality rafting equipment, including neoprene suits, helmets, life jackets, and paddles, ensuring comfort and safety before starting your Vjosa River rafting experience.

02

Transfer & Safety Briefing

Once everyone is ready, our drivers transport the group to the river entry point. Before entering the water, guides provide a clear safety briefing, explaining paddling techniques, teamwork, river navigation rules, and swimming instructions.

03

The Warm-Up (Calm Waters)

The experience begins with a calm section of the river, perfect for practicing paddling and getting comfortable with the raft. During this part you can enjoy the natural scenery of the valley and, if conditions allow, take a refreshing swim in the clear water.

04

Rapids & Swimming Break

As the river becomes more dynamic, the excitement begins. Working together as a team, you will navigate fun rapids and waves along one of the most scenic sections of the Vjosa River in southern Albania. Between rapids, we stop for a swimming break, where you can enjoy the crystal-clear water and, if you feel adventurous, take optional jumps from natural river rocks under the guidance of our rafting team.

05

Finish & Return

After completing the rafting route through Vjosa National Park, we reach the finish point where our vans will be waiting to transfer you back to the rafting center in Përmet. Here you can relax and view the free photos from your rafting experience.

Frequently Asked Questions .

Not at all! Our rafting tours on the Vjosa River are perfect for beginners and families. Our certified guides will provide a full safety briefing and all the instructions you need before we hit the water.
The rafting season on the Vjosa River typically runs from April to October. Spring offers higher water levels for a more thrill-seeking experience, while summer and autumn provide calmer waters, perfect for a relaxing adventure and swimming.
You only need to bring a swimsuit or shorts, a towel, and a change of clothes for after the trip. We provide all the professional equipment, including wetsuits, helmets, and life jackets. Don't forget your spirit of adventure!
Yes, safety is our top priority. The sections of the river we navigate are Class II and III, which are considered safe for children (usually age 5-6 and up, depending on water conditions). Every child is equipped with a professional life jacket and helmet.
The entire experience usually takes about 2 to 3 hours. This includes meeting at our center in Përmet, gear preparation, safety briefing, approximately 2 hours of rafting on the river, and some time for local snacks.
Rafting is a "wet" activity anyway, so we usually go out in the rain! In fact, rafting in light rain can be a magical experience. However, if our guides determine that weather conditions or water levels are unsafe, we will reschedule or offer a full refund.
